Progetto Manifattura’s Green Innovation Community is Powered by Skipso

We are excited to announce and welcome a new Cluster within Skipso’s global Cleantech network and ecosystem: Progetto Manifattura – Green Innovation Factory.

Progetto Manifattura – Green Innovation Factory is transforming a 9-hectare (22-acre) historic tobacco facility into an innovation hub for green building, renewable energy, and environmental technology. The project is the premier green technology partner in Italy, offering turnkey business solutions, a supportive environment, and excellent connections to northeast Italy and Europe.

The project is focusing on business development in a framework of a regional strategy to promote climate change accountability. Using business and public strategies in the context of a landmark facility, Manifattura will demonstrate how to reach carbon reduction targets, achieve sustainable growth and adopt responsible behaviors. The location will inspire innovation by offering attractive spaces in historic and new eco-sustainable buildings.

Progetto Manifattura is already home to start-up companies, small and medium size enterprises, technology transfer groups, and test/certification laboratories.

Skipso is supporting Progetto Manifattura’s Green Innovation Community with its dedicated platform specifically designed for green technology clusters and hubs around the world. Over the coming months Skipso will work closely with Progetto Manifattura’s team to develop a set of services and applications to enable a closer interaction between the different clusters within its ecosystem.

Skipso Wins Public Vote Award in Stanford!

Carlo Soresina (Co-Founder Skipso)

I have spent the last 6 weeks in San Francisco, working at incubator Pier 38. Skipso was in fact one of 12 startup companies selected as part of the business plan competition Mind the Bridge to represent the best of Italian innovation in the Silicon Valley.

The month long program, which combined intense networking activities with meetings and mentoring sessions, culminated in one big event in Stanford (Italian Innovation Day) where the 12 startups pitched to a big audience and especially to a stellar VC panel: Tim Draper (DFJ), Scott Sandell (NEA) and Jeff Clavier (SofTech VC). Not bad!

We had some great feedback and were awarded the public vote prize for having received the most online votes among all the finalists!

On behalf of the Skipso team, I would like to thank all of you for having voted Skipso. Your ongoing support is what keeps us going in this exciting journey.

Let us know when you are in London, drinks are on us!
